Ingrid Fliter - Biography


Ingrid Fliter
was awarded the second Prize and Silver Medal in the 2000 International
Frederick Chopin Piano Competition Warsaw.



Born in Buenos Aires in 1973, she began her piano studies with Elizabeth
Westerkamp. From 1992 she continues her studies in Europe with Vitalj
Margulis in the Musikhochschule fur Musik in Freiburg, Germany,
in Rome with Carlo Bruno, and in the Academy “Incontri col
Maestro” in Imola under the leadership of Franco Scala and
Boris Petrushansky. She followed a course of Fortepiano with S.
Fiuzzi in the Imola Academy. She participated in master classes
held by A. Jasinsky, A. Lonquich, L. Lortie, L. Fleisher, V. Bakk,
A. Vardi, among others.



In Argentina she was awarded First Prize in many National Competitions
which allowed her to make her Orchestra debut in the “Colon
Theatre” at the age of 16. In 1994 she won First Prize in
both categories (Classic and Romantic) and the special Prize in
the International Competition for Piano and Orchestra “Citta
di Cantu” in Italy and in 1998 was prize winner of the “Ferruccio
Busoni” Competition in Bolzano, Italy.



Her intensive concert activity takes her to perform in important
worldwide Concert Halls such as: Concertgebouw-Amsterdam, Suntory
Hall-Tokyo, Kennedy Center-Washington, Lincoln Center-New York,
National Gallery of Washington, Liszt Conservatory Hall-Budapest,
Philharmonia-San Petersburg, Teatro Colon-Buenos Aires, Alte Oper-Frankfurt,
Teatro Comunale of Ferrara, Conservatorio G. Verdi-Milan, Teatro
Municipal de Chile, Grosses Festspiele-Haus, Salzburg, Kohlner Philharmony,
etc.



She is regularly invited to Japan where she had performed with the
Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by K. Kord, with the St.
Petersburg Symphonic Orchestra conducted by A. Dmitriev and participated
in “The World Pianists Series”, shared with A.Brendel,
A.Ugorski, R.Lupu, M.Pollini, M.Argerich, N.Freire, M.Dalberto,
M.Beroff and I.Haebler.



She was conducted by Z.Kocsis, A.Dmitriev, G. Varga, P.Entremont,
E.Oue, A. Gilbert, M.Inoue, P.Calderon, C.M.Prieto, V.P.Perez, H.Shelley,
K.I.Kowayashi, N. Kok, A.Duczmal, T.Wickerek, T. Kuchar among others
and played with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra of New York, Mahler
Chamber Orchestra, St. Petersburg Symphonic Orchestra, Hungarian
National Philharmonics, Berliner Symphoniker, Het Gelders Orkest,
The Netherlands Philharmonics, National Symphonic and National Philharmonic
Orchestras of Buenos Aires, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestra
Sinfonica G. Verdi di Milano, Kanagawa Chamber Orchestra, Orquesta
Sinfonica de Tenerife, Xalapa Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the
Nations, among others.



With Z. Kocsis she performed the Sonata for two pianos and percussion
by B. Bartok with the Amadinda Percussion Group of Budapest.



Ingrid participated in several Music Festivals like "La Roque
D'Antheron", France, Prague Autumn Festival, "Feast in
the East" de Tiszadob, Hungary, “Valldemossa Chopin Festival”,
"Antonin Festival", Poland, "De Bach a Bartok"
Italy, "A.Benedetti Michelangeli", Brescia e Bergamo,
Italy, “Espinho Festival”,Portugal. Among her future
engagements there are concert-tours in Holland, Poland, Japan, Hungary,
United States, Spain and Argentina.
