Chopin's Life and Work - Third Annual Atlanta Youth Competition

November, 2006

In November 2006 the Chopin Society of Atlanta held its Third Annual Chopin’s Life and Work Competition for Atlanta Youth, in two categories, performance and written.
The latter consisted of a written test on Chopin’s life and music, a short essay, and audio questions concerning Chopin’s work. The questions were prepared by Maria Archetto, professor of music at Oxford College of Emory University. The repertoire for the performance competition consisted of one or two pieces of Chopin’s original music of different forms, played from memory.
